This segment of Perspectives On focuses on female entrepreneurship and is hosted by Founder and Executive Producer Lairalaine White and co-hosted by Special Correspondent Paula Ann Granston! The three women highlighted have each proven themselves as innovators, each have successfully created, organized and manage an enterprise.
All three from within the state of Georgia....which is important because, according to Bond Street, Georgia ranks No. 1 in urban cities within the U.S. for fastest growth in the number of firms owned and operated by women.
A study conducted by Intuit concluded a that “more than a third of businesses in Atlanta are owned by women” and “ranks sixth in the top cities for female entrepreneurs.”
As sole proprietor of Atlanta’s Slutty Vegan, Pinky Cole has helped to literally put Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. back on the map! She has already been featured in Forbes Magazine and the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s ATL CLOSE UP. As a graduate of Clark Atlanta University with a degree in Mass Communication, she was a Television Producer and casting director before turning her talents to entrepreneurship!
Dr. Natoshia Anderson is CEO and Founder of Smart STEM. The genuine love for teaching and learning motivated an organizational focus on retaining girls and young women in STEM. She is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University, and holds both an MBA and doctorate degree from the University of Phoenix.
Creative visionary, Alicia Porter is owner and operator of The Burning Sands leads the pac in entrepreneurship by starting business more than 30 years ago while a student at Payne College! She was most recently recognized by Women’s Empowerment as one of the Most Outstanding Women in Business.
